Cliff Pirch’s Guide to Southwestern Desert Bass Fishing
Elite Series pro Clifford Pirch has fished eight Bassmaster Classics, but he’s probably better-known for his three U.S. Open wins – sometimes referred to as “the Iditarod of bass fishing.” It’s a grueling tournament, and winning it just once makes a western angler into a legend.
He was raised in Arizona, and still resides there. It’s a long haul to most of his eastern tournament venues, but it’s worth the effort, because when he’s at home he has great hunting and some of the most underrated bass fishing in the country. Listen to him talk about lakes like Mead, Mojave and Powell, as well as those right around Phoenix.
